How to make your own brush bag – DIY

Do you also brush bag, which collects and protects your makeup brushes, when you're traveling or just to keep a little order in the home? So is this DIY may be just for you. Good makeup brushes can be an expensive investment, but if you treat them nicely, they can also last for several years.

I know, that my mother has makeup brushes from Estee Lauder, which is 17 years old, but they are still just fine, because she has taken good care of them and protected them. I intend to be just as good with my makeup brushes, and therefore I was inspired to make such a small brush bag/roller purse for them.

It is a super cheap and easy solution. You don't even need creative fingers to make it. This has cost max. 30 kroner to make, so it's easy to squeeze into the budget. It is also really useful for markers and other drawing tools.

It is also a really nice gift idea, if you want to please a makeup- or friend who likes to draw:-)

To 1 you must use a brush bag:

– A sushi rolling mat – I found mine on offer in Rema for 15 kr.
– 55 cm black elastic (1,5 cm bred)
– Ca. 35 cm fine ribbon of your choice, but preferably not too thin
– Needle and black sewing thread

Lay out the bamboo mat flat. Braid the black elastic between the pins, so that the distance matches the thickness of the different brushes you have, but still make sure, that the distance is not too great, so they fall out. Make any. also room for, that you can have tweezers, a small pair of scissors or maybe even your favorite eyeliner brush case.

When you have braided the elastic into the bamboo mat, you sew it in place on each side. Then you turn the mat over, and finds the center of the mat, and pull the ribbon through a couple of pins.

Insert your brushes, roll the mat up and tie a bow around it with the ribbon. Then your brush bag is complete!
