Doctor, PhD student in dermatology and makeup lover Cæcilie Johansen came by for a talk about beauty, skin care and rosacea. Cæcilie is writing her PhD in dermatology, and then she herself suffers from rosacea. On the instagram profile @makeupandmedicine.dk she shares her vast knowledge of skin diseases, skin care and skin treatments added a good squeeze of humor.
Rosacea is a chronic skin disease, which gives red stains on the skin of the face, and which can give a tingling and burning sensation to the skin. Cæcilie gives her best advice on what to avoid in your skin care and your everyday life and how you can keep the symptoms down with both skin care and IPL laser treatments.
The first symptoms are redness of the skin. The redness is due, that the blood vessels dilate near the surface of the skin. You can feel a kind of tingling and tingling in the skin. Small bumps and pimples can develop. They spread across the nose, cheeks, forehead and chin. It can, for example, be the trick of hot food and drink (eg as the coffee that Cæcilie mentions in the episode, that she drinks and marks affect her skin), sunlight and alcohol.
